The CDW Scholarship Recipient Enrichment Program focuses on making sure our women students, many of whom are nontraditional, have special programming aimed specifically at helping them build networks and succeed both on and off The Ohio State University’s campuses. See below for the variety of events that have been offered to the CDW scholarship community.

Halloween at the ConservatoryMother with children making crafts

Dress up in costume and take part in the following family activities compliments of CDW

  • Visit 7 trick-or-treat stations
  • Create Halloween hats and bats
  • Create spooky spin art ($2) or get a temporary tattoo
  • Watch glassblowing demonstrations, 12 - 4pm
  • See Gus the Squash Carver, 1:30 - 3:30pm
  • Take a guided tour of the ScottsMiracle-Gro Community Garden Campus, 3pm


Study Day @ the RPACRPAC building

Come study or relax for 3 hrs in a quiet space with fellow CDW women while the children play in the gym and watch a movie with OSU camp counselors. Feel free to bring your children or nephew, nieces, god children, etc! Simply be sure to RSVP with Melissa at cdw@admin.ohio-state.edu

Enjoy entertainment, specialty cocktails, full bar offerings, small plate menu, and weekly giveaways at Cocktails at the Conservatory, on the Rooftop Gardens, compliments of CDW.

Current exhibitions, the permanent Chihuly Collection, and James Turrell's Light Raiment II installation will be on view.

Engaging Resources with the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC)

Get tips on how to use sources to guide and enrich your arguments, substantiate your thinking, and provide a springboard for sound scholarship. Learn how to go beyond merely completing an academic exercise in order to address the questions that most concern us as scholars and to use sources to engage in an intellectual dialogue.

Hip Hop Fitness Event

CDW students with other students and community members were invited to come, bring a friend, have fun and exercise to support other OSU students. It was a free event but donations were welcomed. The first 15 CDW women with children who attend the event received a 10-hours RPAC Recky’s Clubhouse punch card (infant to 10 yrs).

Whether you need advice or a sounding board, a mentor can inspire and guide you! Childcare will be provided free of charge in the RPAC Kids Zone for children two months to 12 years.  Childcare is limited and will be provided first-come, first-served, so please register early.

Get hands-on, practical experience on how to make healthy meals on a budget from a vegan chef.

Spa Day
